Planning your event

PLANNING A DATE AND TIME

When choosing a date, make sure to look at the expected weather, sunset times and any major events taking place in your local area. You want to maximise attendance.

Our cinema’s work best after dark, so the recommended time to start 15-30 minutes after sunset

CHOOSING A LOCATION

A large, flat, grassy space is ideal for outdoor cinema and if possible, ensure there is nearby access to ample power. Be sure to let us know if long extension cords are required.

Depending on the size of the area, rear projection is better as it frees up the front of the screen entirely for your guests to spread out and enjoy the show.

ORGANISING A MOVIE AND SCREEN

The size of the screen should match your expected audience. We offer two different screens which are suitable for most outdoor settings. Our standard outdoor screen is 3 x 2 metres whereas our inflatable screen is 4 x 3 metres.

Both are suitable for 100 – 150 people, however, for the best viewing and comfort, we wouldn’t recommend any more than 40-50 people, depending upon the size of the area where the event is to be held.

The good news, a licence is not required to show movies in your backyard to your family and friends! Check our FAQs for the many options available.

SEATING

Will your guests bring their own seating, or will you be providing it? We’ve got you covered, as beanbags are included in some of our packages. Additional bean bags can be hired as well, just let us know!

If you are looking for something a little more VIP, then look no further than our Lux package which includes two-seater Chesterfield inflatable sofa’s and side tables.

DID WE HEAR YOU SAY POPCORN?

Popcorn is synonymous with the big screen and we can provide you with an 8oz commercial popcorn machine and ingredients so that your guests will be enjoying the warm, buttery goodness that is cinema-quality popcorn in the same time it takes to zap that bag of popcorn in the microwave.
